Watch: Paddy Pimblett offers to clean up dog mess in viral exchange

Watch: Paddy Pimblett offers to clean up dog mess in viral exchange

You’d like to think that most people would have the wherewithal to clean up dog sh*t when out for a walk with their faithful hound — but you probably wouldn’t expect a video clip of such an exchange to have garnered close to seven million views in a little over 24 hours.

But this is Paddy Pimblett we’re talking about, the man who in just a couple of weeks will make his pay-per-view debut in the UFC 282 co-main event in Las Vegas on December 10 and who has become one of the organisation’s biggest rising stars just three fights into his tenure in the UFC lightweight division.

But amid Pimblett’s rising fame, the Liverpool man still remains a man of the people and didn’t think twice about offering to clean up what he referred to as a “sloppy sh*t” left by his dog on a neighbours lawn.

Check out the exchange below:

Oryen Network Guarantees 90% APY And entices Early Backers Of Polygon, Dogecoin, And Big Eyes Communities

Oryen Network Guarantees 90% APY And entices Early Backers Of Polygon, Dogecoin, And Big Eyes Communities

The past few years have been outrightly abnormal when investing in crypto. We’ve seen the rise and fall of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a host of other digital currencies. As a result, Crypto investors are always on the lookout for high-potential projects in the crypto space, given that these projects have the potential to generate high returns.

The Oryen Network is a new DEfi platform that is quickly gaining buzz in the crypto community. The project has already enticed early backers from the Polygon, Dogecoin, and Big Eyes communities with its promise of up to 90% APY. Although it is still in its early stages, the project has the potential to disrupt decentralized finance with its high yield and unique auto-staking mechanism.

ORY has been described as the next generation of DeFi platforms. The project aims to use the power of its auto-staking mechanism to create the highest-yielding stablecoin, ORY, as it claims to be able to give out a return of 90% APY for all its users. In addition, SolidProof audits the project’s smart contract, and the network is currently the fastest platform to distribute rebase rewards directly into a trader’s wallet.

Furthermore, the platform has its in-built risk-free value (RFV) wallet that supports the token’s price during market fluctuations and prevents it from devaluation. The project is currently in the fourth phase of its ICO, and analysts predict it will continue its strong momentum by giving its investors huge returns.

According to a video review by Jim Crypto, this project is “promising” and will revolutionize the crypto industry. Even Safemoon whale Steven Clarke feels the same and has stated that Oryen will be among the top crypto projects in 2022. You can check the table below if you’d like to know about its bonus and presale schedule.

Polygon’s Rise

Polygon has been dubbed as a better alternative to the Ethereum blockchain, as it is a more secure and stable platform. It is a layer-2 blockchain that aims to provide users with faster transactions and lower gas fees. Its native currency, MATIC, is a governance token that can be used to vote on changes to the network and pay transaction fees. MATIC’s price skyrocketed after the platform announced its partnership with Meta, but it could not sustain it because of the recent market crash. Since then, crypto whales who once invested in MATIC are now looking for other opportunities to invest in, like Oryen.

Will Dogecoin usher in a new era of meme coins?

Dogecoin was launched in 2013 as an alternative to traditional cryptos like bitcoin. It started as a whimsical project to satirize the crypto industry but quickly gained a following in the world of social media. It has strong support from Reddit and Twitter communities, and although it has lost most of its market share, the project has laid down a foundation to grow and thrive in the coming years.

Understanding Big Eyes (BIG)

Big Eyes is also built on the Ethereum blockchain and is a community-driven project that aims to unite users worldwide by introducing new NFT projects. In addition, the meme coin believes in sustainability and has promised to donate some of its native BIG tokens to a charity project supporting ocean conservation.

Key Takeaways

Oryen’s revolutionary auto-staking mechanism has propelled the platform to become one of the most promising projects. The community-driven project is set to outpace other altcoins, and it has the potential to offer many income opportunities for crypto enthusiasts.

First Mover Asia: Dogecoin Surges 16% to Continue Its Holiday Cheer

James Rubin is CoinDesk’s U.S. news editor based on the West Coast.

Good morning. Here’s what’s happening:

Prices: Dogecoin soared more than 16% over the past 24 hours and is up more than 50% since last Tuesday.

Insights: Ethereum Name service selects Karpatkey DAO to manage Its endowment fund

Dogecoin Surges; Other Cryptos Trade Flat

On a quiet holiday weekend in cryptocurrency markets, DOGE made some noise.

The popular meme coin soared 16% over the previous 24 hours and was trading at more than 10 cents. DOGE has risen nearly 50% since last Monday with most of its gains occurring during U.S. Thanksgiving holiday celebrations, which started on Thursday. The reasons for the spike were difficult to pinpoint, although social media influencer David Gokhshtein mused to his more than 700,000 Twitter followers on Thursday about the possibility of new Twitter boss Elon Musk and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin working together on DOGE improvement.

“I feel that we’ll all see Vitalik and Elon working together to somehow upgrade $DOGE,” Gokhshstein wrote.

Investors fretting another post FTX-related price plunge in crypto markets could otherwise take heart at bitcoin’s resilience, although the largest cryptocurrency’s ability to hold its perch over $16,000 for yet another few days hardly suggests a more permanent upturn is approaching, a number of analysts have said. BTC was recently trading at about $16,500, roughly flat for the past 24 hours and about where it stood Wednesday when the U.S. began its Thanksgiving holiday celebrations.

“It’s trying to stabilize around the $15,500-$17,000 region and weather the storm but I’m not sure it will be that easy,” wrote Craig Erlam, senior market analyst for foreign exchange market maker Oanda.

Traditional markets were closed on Thursday and stock trading the following day was light as many businesses closed, including major financial services firms. The calm extended to crypto markets.

Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency in market value, was recently changing hands at about $1,200, roughly flat from Saturday, same time and about where it stood as Thursday dawned. Aside from DOGE, most cryptos in the CoinDesk top 20 also traded sideways, although XLM recently rose more than 3%. The CoinDesk Market Index (CDI), an index measuring cryptos’ performance, was up about 1%.

Oanda’s Erlam was less than sanguine about crypto markets as the fallout widens from crypto exchange FTX’s implosion earlier this month.

“There’s likely more to come from the FTX collapse and the contagion effects, not to mention potentially other scandals that could be uncovered,” Erlam wrote. “This may continue to make crypto traders very nervous and leave the foundations supporting price extremely shaky.”

Ethereum Name Service Selects Karpatkey DAO to Manage Its Endowment Fund

The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) has chosen a new fund manager to take charge in managing its treasury in the wake of crypto winter.

In a vote that opened Nov. 17 and closed on Nov. 22, community members selected Karpatkey DAO, a decentralized finance (DeFi) fund management organization originally incubated through Gnosis Ltd.

Karpatkey received 1.76 million votes. Notable addresses that picked Karpatkey include ENS co-founder Alex Van de Sande (avsa.eth), founder of Rotkiapp Lefteris Karapetsas (lefteris.eth) and ENS steward Griff Green (griff.eth), who altogether had a voting power of 468K ENS.

“None of the above” came in second place with 1.3 million votes.

Now that the community has chosen Karpatkey, the treasury management firm in collaboration with Steakhouse Financial, going forward, will manage the bulk of ENS’s treasury composed mostly of USDC and ETH. With more than two years of experience, Karpatkey boasts over $397 million of non-custodial assets under management, excluding ENS.

The goal of the endowment fund, called ENS Endaoment, is to create a sustainable fund that can fuel continuous development regardless of macroeconomics conditions that may adversely affect revenue stemming from ENS registrations and renewals. Talks of the ENS Endaoment were happening as early as March before the crises related to Terra, Three Arrows Capital, Celsius Network and FTX, according to Nicholas Johnson, one of three directors for the ENS Foundation, and Mona El Isa, CEO and founder of Avantgarde, one of the potential fund managers up for consideration.

Karpatkey said in its proposal, “The funds would be managed transparently and completely on-chain through a non-custodial solution … The core of Karpatkey’s non-custodial solution relies on the most battle-tested tooling to manage DAO treasuries: a proxy Management Safe and the Zodiac Roles Modifier.”

Zodiac, developed by Gnosis Guild, is “a collection of tools built according to an open standard” as said on its Github page, while Safe, securing close to $40 billion in all its Ethereum contracts, is one of the most popular ways to custody digital assets in a decentralized manner.

$52 million is the initial size of Karpatkey’s proposal for the ENS Endaoment and $69 million with a projected return of 5.83% is the final stage of Karpatkey’s proposal. “The strategy would use low-risk, medium complexity DeFi strategies such as providing liquidity to automated market makers.”

In an interview with CoinDesk, Karpatkey’s business development manager who goes by “DeFi Foodie” on Twitter, said, “It’s been a great exchange that has been in the forum, on the diversity of voices, how everybody could just give their opinion openly. And that’s been really healthy for ENS DAO because people can just speak their minds and have civil exchanges. When the forum asks questions [and] challenge[s] points, I think that’s something that is rich for the community and favorable.”

El Isa told CoinDesk that if a fund manager endorses a non-custodial, completely transparent solution, such as Enzyme, Avantgarde’s proposal choice for a decentralized asset and treasury management protocol, for the ENS Endaoment, it “would be the first example of something being run completely on-chain”, where a FTX or Bernie Madoff situation “wouldn’t be possible.”

In case you missed it, here is the most recent episode of “All About Bitcoin” on CoinDesk TV:

Bitcoin (BTC) has rebounded after it hit a two-year low in the past 24 hours. Delphi Digital Markets Associate Jason Pagoulatos gave his outlook on the markets. Plus, FTX’s lawyers say former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried ran the exchange like his own “personal fiefdom,” allowing executives to use customer funds to purchase luxury real estate. Wilk Auslander LLP Partner Eric Snyder joined “All About Bitcoin” to discuss the key takeaways from FTX’s first bankruptcy hearing.

US Senators Demand Sam Bankman-Fried, FTX Execs Be Held Accountable to ‘Fullest Extent of the Law’: Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said in a Wednesday letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland they want Sam Bankman-Fried and others investigated.

Video: Paddy Pimblett’s dog has an accident in neighbor’s yard, leads to hilarious interaction on camera

Video: Paddy Pimblett’s dog has an accident in neighbor’s yard, leads to hilarious interaction on camera

Paddy Pimblett is a stand up guy.

We’ve all been there before: you’re walking your dog when suddenly it starts to handle its business on your neighbors lawn, and you’re unprepared for the moment. Well, the same thing recently happened to Pimblett, who was caught off guard when his dog took a “sloppy s***” on a neighbor’s lawn during a nighttime stroll. Lacking the tools to clean up the mess, Pimblett opted to ring the neighbor’s doorbell to resolve the situation, leading to a wholesome interaction between the two that was caught on the woman’s Ring camera, and made the rounds on social media this weekend.

“Hello, love. Me dog’s just had a sloppy s*** outside and I was just wondering if you’ve got some water,” Pimblett said. “I don’t want to leave it outside.”

It’s at this point that Pimblett’s neighbor recognizes the MMA star, asking, “Is that Paddy the Baddy?” before telling Pimblett not to worry and that she’ll take care of it.

“You sure? I feel terrible,” Pimblett responded. “He just had a proper sloppy s*** and I can’t even pick it up with a poo bag, you know what I mean?”

“Don’t worry. I’ll clean it when I get in,” the neighbor said.

“Thank you very much, once again,” Pimblett concluded. “I’m sorry about that. I hate doing stuff like that. That’s why I knocked on.”

Pimblett is 3-0 since joining the UFC in 2021, and is now set to face Jared Gordon in the co-main event of UFC 282 on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas.

UFC lightweight star Paddy Pimblett can be seen on the door cam apologizing of a stranger for his dog using his front yard as a bathroom.

The homeowner wasn’t at home at the time, but recognized “The Baddy.” Pimblett asked for some water to clean up the ‘sloppy sh*t.’ The homeowner said that she’d take care of it when she returned home. The hilarious exchange was caught on doorbell cam and posted online.

“I feel terrible,” Pimblett said in the video. “He dropped a sloppy sh*t and I can’t even pick it up with a poo-bag. You know what I mean?”

Pimblett (19-3) is scheduled to face Jared Gordon (19-5) in the UFC 282 co-main event on December 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight card is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between No. 2 ranked former champion Jan Blachowicz and No. 3 ranked Magomed Ankalaev for the vacant 205-pound championship.

Reincarnated as a Sword ‒ Episode 8

Reincarnated as a Sword ‒ Episode 8

Fran’s backstory, the unflinchingly-assessed evils of slavery and her quest to grow and evolve past that station, has been the most serious component of Reincarnated as a Sword‘s plot since its beginning. So much else of the series has been filled with perfectly-pleasant daily life, mildly mind-numbing menu navigation, and occasionally high-stakes adventure battles, but that base was still boiling away in the background: There is some heavily evil shit lining the roots of this world, and now and then, it’s going to poke out for Fran and Teacher to confront. One such instance appeared at the end of last week’s episode, in Gyuran, a Blue Cat sicced on Fran by Allsand.

Reincarnated as a Sword‘s attitude towards slavery and racism against Black Cats has always been its best feature from its origin point. So things get a little murky with the introduction of Blue Cats via Gyuran. That is, there is a lot of the hoary old idea of fantasy racism powering this character’s portrayal. To hear Fran tell it, the Blue Cats are a unilaterally evil race, mortal enemies of the Black Cats who were the ones who sold them out into slavery in the first place. Fran thus articulates that she genuinely considers all Blue Cats her kind’s mortal enemies as a result. It is…clunky, even coming off of the previous arc’s insistence that Goblins were also universal avatars of chaotic evil who could freely be exterminated, feeling like more simplified, effortless worldbuilding in the face of the story’s earlier efforts.

Now obviously, other variables might be at play here. We’re getting Fran’s beliefs motivated by her experiences and upbringing. It might even be interpreted that the ‘Blue Cats’ and ‘Black Cats’ originally stemmed from the same tribe, with the divergence only being codified once the more villainous elements had sold out the others. And the show goes to great lengths to make clear that Gyuran himself is a genuinely nasty piece of work, as he gleefully recalls his torture of a Black Cat mother and daughter. That’s the real motivating factor behind some of the rawest combat we see from Fran yet, as she even confirms Gyuran’s evils mid-battle, seemingly herself wanting to make sure she’s not motivated by broad racial prejudice. It all results in an interesting turn, after all, Fran’s anger at this overall unjust world is made clear, and Teacher realizes that he might not need to ‘protect’ Fran as much as he had in other situations in this case— That he would instead be limiting her from growing, or ‘evolving.’ That kind of growth cannot always be a nice thing in a world that would tyrannize you otherwise.

Gyuran is dispatched with surprising swiftness, if no shortness of intensity, despite his seeming introductory importance. It is a central keystone of Fran’s growth, but the story also doesn’t waste time or dwell on it, possibly to maintain the overall tone it generally knows we’re here for. What that does mean is that the Blue Cat ends up ushered off so Fran can be confronted with her real new arch-nemesis: Amanda. I got all excited about the appearance-teasing of this whip-wielding woman last week, and here it turns out she’s all too interested in fulfilling the ‘Mommy’ role of the dommy-mommy for poor Fran, regardless of if she’s interested in that or not. That one’s on me for jinxing it.

So Amanda is going to be a polarizing character. Yes, plenty of us would hardly complain about being affectionately stalked by a 58-year-old half-elf mommy. Still, it’s less appreciable when someone like Fran is just pointedly uninterested in entertaining her advances. Amanda effectively has one joke, which amounts to re-enacting a Droopy Dog sketch but with sexual harassment at every turn. The show tries to assure us that this is all down to Amanda, really, really liking children from a caretaker’s standpoint. There might be even more to her interest in the cat-girl and her growing abilities. But even all the rather funny reactions from Fran (her little fast-walk away at one point is a great detail) can’t underscore how tiresome it becomes to watch over half the episode get taken up by this lady repeatedly trying to slide into her DMs.

It ends up yet again indicative of Reincarnated as a Sword‘s forward-and-back approach to isekai presentation. It progresses the conventions of the genre in so many satisfying ways while still falling into some of the exhausting habits of it (or contemporary anime just in general) in others. This one ends with another tease for next week that indicates the interactions with Amanda could escalate somewhere more compelling, but again, that’s a wait-and-see proposition.

Horses, Goats Rescued From Mounds of Filth on Ohio Farm

Horses, Goats Rescued From Mounds of Filth on Ohio Farm

Their hooves were severely overgrown and they were standing in piles of manure.

Published November 25, 2022 10:01AM EST

More than two dozen horses, goats, dogs, and cats are being treated by veterinarians and receiving care after being rescued from a farm in Ashland County, Ohio.

Investigators removed the animals from a rural property after being alerted to an alleged case of mistreatment. Horses and goats were found in filthy stalls, sometimes standing on piles of manure several feet high.

Ashland County Sheriff’s Office removed 16 horses, six goats, and several dogs and cats from the area and immediately assessed their medical needs.

The horses and goats had overgrown hooves, which can affect their ability to walk and lead to other serious health issues. One mare was pacing in her pen with what appeared to be a ruptured eye. Another thin mare was found lying on her side in the manure. She had difficulty walking when she was led by rescuers from her stall.

A goat had a horn curling into the side of his head and very overgrown hooves. Because there was so much manure in his stall, responders had a difficult time opening the door to his enclosure in order to take him out of the barn.

Teams from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the Humane Society of Ashland County, Days End Farm Horse Rescue, and Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary helped with the operation.

“It’s like walking into an abandoned, forgotten barn, but there are beautiful living beings trapped here. Looking at the accumulation of waste, you can only imagine how long these animals have been suffering in these conditions,” said Mark Finneran, Ohio director for the Humane Society of the United States, in a statement. “We are grateful to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and everyone involved in intervening so these animals never have to live this way again.”

Why This Matters to Treehugger

At Treehugger, we are advocates of animal welfare. Stories like these are often the spark that nudges someone to want to take better care of the planet. At Treehugger, we believe that sharing the valuable work of protecting animal rights can go a long way in inspiring people to want to live a more sustainable life.

Law officials learned about the situation from an emergency call, according to the Ashland Times-Gazette. The caller reported that horses were “standing in manure” and that their “hooves are turned up.”

Parts of a rural road in Milton Township were closed for hours as responders worked to remove the animals from the property.

Video footage of the rescue shows so much of the barn covered in layers of dirt, debris, and cobwebs. It took four rescuers to guide the weakened horse out of the barn as she wobbled on shaky legs and highly overgrown hooves.

“It’s pretty shocking to see the level of neglect and how long they must have been in there for the feces to accumulate so high,” said Laura Koivula, director of animal crimes and investigations for HSUS, in the video. “It really, truly looked abandoned except there were animals living there.”

They are now receiving veterinary attention and care.

Some commenters online bashed the owners, while others defended them, suggesting they were seniors and unable to provide adequate care.

“It sounds like people HAVE tried to help them for several years, but their help was unwelcomed and not wanted. Others in the community had no idea the animals were even there as it looked abandoned,” said one commenter on an Ashland County Facebook page.

“Those poor animals didn’t have a choice but to stand and lay in their own waste. Waste so high they had to pry open the doors to get some of the animals. They had no choice but to breathe in the dust and cobwebs and waste matter into their lungs. Obviously, no veterinarian care had been provided to them for many years.”

VIDEO: Stranger gets Ring call from UFC’s Paddy Pimblett apologizing for his dog’s ‘sloppy sh*t’

Paddy Pimblett is a decent neighbor.

The UFC lightweight mustered the courage to ring the doorbell of a stranger and warn them about his dog taking a massive “sloppy sh*t” in their front yard during their nighttime walk. Pimblett asked for some water to wash away the poop, but unfortunately, the homeowner wasn’t there.

The homeowner recognized the UFC star and was cool about the situation, saying she’d take care of it when she got home. The whole thing was caught on a Ring camera and posted online.

Is the Starbucks Puppuccino Safe for Dogs?

Is the Starbucks Puppuccino Safe for Dogs?

The only thing sweeter than your pup might be a tiny cuppa Puppuccino on your coffee run. Find out if the treat is safe for your fur family (and how to get your paws on one).

Dog drooling over your Starbucks order? Get your good boy or girl their own special treat next time you’re at the drive-thru: a puppuccino!

What Is a Puppuccino?

Could it even be a Starbucks item if it didn’t have an on-brand name like this? It sounds more complicated than it is. It’s just a cup (espresso- or sample-sized) of whipped cream for your pup.

What’s in a Puppuccino?

Besides your dog’s face? This secret menu item for dogs is made solely with whipped cream. That’s it! And knowing how many common foods aren’t safe for dogs, that’s probably for the best.

Are Puppuccinos Safe for Dogs?

Yes. Even though dogs don’t do well digesting lactose, the good news is that whipped cream also contains a lot of air. So a little bit of whipped cream for your dog every now and then should not pose a significant health risk.

Of course, we echo Starbucks’ official stance on the Puppuccino: “We recommend that pet owners consult with their vet on what treats are best for their pet.” This is especially important if your dog has any health issues or special dietary restrictions—or if they’ve had digestive issues after eating whipped cream in the past.

If you’re into ordering Puppuccinos, whether for the photo op or to help coax an anxious dog into more car rides, moderation is key. Save the Puppuccinos for when your dog is extra well-behaved or could use a little pick-me-up.

A word of caution: Just because dogs can stomach a little whipped cream doesn’t mean any kind of whipped topping is good to share with your pup at home. Case in point: Some sugar-free whipped toppings contain xylitol, which can be toxic to dogs.

Can Cats Have Puppuccinos?

Best to save this treat for your pup! A cat’s stomach tends to be more sensitive to the ingredients in whipped cream. At most, you could offer them a lick or two. Cats’ smaller size also means a little goes a very long way.

How Much Is a Puppuccino?

Unlike other secret menu items at Starbucks, Puppuccinos are entirely free of charge. Just roll up and ask for a Puppuccino. If your barista isn’t sure what you mean, try asking for a pup cup or just a plain ol’ serving of whipped cream on the side. (That whipped cream is free for humans too, by the way, so do with that information what you will.)

Staying home? Try making some of these homemade dog treats to keep those tails wagging.
